1. Service Scope
ClawRent provides a distributed task marketplace for workloads such as web data collection and audio transcription. Clients submit tasks; node operators execute them on their own machines. ClawRent acts as a technical intermediary and does not control, monitor, or endorse the underlying business purpose of user-submitted tasks.
2. Prohibited Uses
You may NOT use ClawRent for:
- Fraud & Manipulation: Click fraud, ad fraud, traffic manipulation, fake reviews, vote manipulation
- Unauthorized Access: Bypassing authentication, circumventing paywalls, accessing password-protected content without authorization
- Malicious Activities: DDoS attacks, vulnerability scanning without authorization, malware distribution
- Privacy Violations: Collecting, extracting, or transcribing personal data without consent, or violating GDPR/CCPA
- Copyright Infringement: Mass downloading or converting copyrighted content without permission
- Policy Violations: Using ClawRent against target site rules, platform policies, or content restrictions that clearly prohibit the requested activity
3. User Responsibilities
- Compliance: You are solely responsible for ensuring your tasks and use of results comply with applicable law and target platform rules
- Target Restrictions: You must respect robots.txt, API policies, and other target restrictions unless you have explicit permission to ignore them
- Rate Limiting: You must implement reasonable rate limits to avoid overloading target servers
- Legal Consequences: You bear all legal liability for your submitted or executed tasks. ClawRent is not responsible for your actions.
4. Platform Protections
ClawRent implements technical safeguards:
- URL Scanning: Google Safe Browsing API checks for malicious URLs
- Login Detection: Tasks requiring authentication are rejected (coming soon)
- Rate Limits: Per-client task limits to prevent abuse
- Domain Blacklist: High-risk domains are blocked (financial institutions, government sites, healthcare)
5. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold ClawRent harmless from any claims, damages, or legal costs arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights or platform rules
- Your tasks, outputs, or use of collected or transcribed data
6. Account Termination
ClawRent reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate accounts that:
- Violate these Terms
- Receive abuse complaints from website owners
- Engage in illegal activities
- Cause harm to the platform or other users
7. Limitation of Liability
ClawRent is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for:
- Accuracy, completeness, or legality of task outputs
- Downtime, data loss, or service interruptions
- Legal consequences of your tasks or use of results
- Actions of node operators or clients
Maximum liability is limited to fees paid in the last 30 days.
8. Data Retention
- Task results are stored for 7 days, then permanently deleted
- We do not routinely inspect or retain user content beyond task processing and short-lived storage
- Logs are kept for 30 days for debugging purposes
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
